Biography
Specialising in respiratory and allergic disorders in children, Dr Basil Elnazir is based in the Department of Paediatric Respiratory Medicine at the National Children's Hospital (Tallaght). He began practice as a Paediatric Respiratory Consultant in 2002 having trained in Birmingham, Dublin and Wales. He completed his PhD thesis at the University of Birmingham. He is a Senior Clinical Lecturer in Paediatrics at Trinity College Dublin. He is also a Member of the Royal College of Physicians UK, a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health UK, and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in Ireland. He has presented and published his research both nationally and internationally, and has given a number of invited presentations. Dr Elnazir is a member of several societies including the British Paediatric Respiratory Society, the European Respiratory Society, and the American Thoracic Society. He is the Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee of the Asthma Society of Ireland.
